Vasectomy & Reversal
Vasectomy
Usually vasectomy is carried out as a day procedure. Some doctors use local anaesthesia. Local anaesthetic is applied to numb the area before making 1 or 2 small incision in the scrotum. This allows the surgeon to gain access to the vas deferens of each testicle. The tubes are cut and sealed to prevent the sperm from entering the seminal stream. General anaesthetic may also be used if the patient prefers to be asleep during the procedure.
Reversal
Some vasectomy can be reversed, please speak with your urologist for further information on vasectomy reversal.
