Testicular Cancer
The testicles are part of the male reproductive glands their main function is to produce sperm and testosterone. The testicles are located outside the body as sperm develops best at a temperature lower than body temperature. The testicles are located in a sack called the scrotum that sits behind the penis. Testicular cancer affects over 600 Australia’s each year it is one of the most common cancers among males aged between 18 -40.
Young males should be taught at an early age about self checking and report any abnormal changes. Early detection is essential for testicular cancer as early detection can results in less aggressive treatment or spread of the cancer. As soon as a lump, swelling, or any changes are noted you should seek medical attention. Early intervention means a better outcome.
