Enlarge Prostate (BPH)


The prostate is a male reproduction gland that produces fluid to nourish the seamen and carries the seamen during ejaculation. The prostate gland is approximately the size of a walnut and weighs around 20g.  Enlarge prostate means the gland has got bigger which can happen to most men as they get older.  Although in most cases the enlarged prostate is often benign (non Cancerous).  Enlarge prostate can cause urinary symptoms. 

 

Some of the more common symptoms of enlarge prostate include:

  • Urgency to urinate
  • Nocturnal Frequency (getting up at night more than once to urinate)
  • Dribbling at the end of urination
  • Incomplete empting of the bladder (feeling of not fully empting your bladder)
  • Unable to Urinate (urinary retention)
  • Blood in the urine
  • Urine infections
